Tutorial: 3D Stroke Glow in After Effects
Here’s a tutorial that is done entirely in After Effects using Trapcode 3D Stroke and Trapcode Particular. It creates a light streak animation that culminates in a glowing logo reveal with a particle explosion. It’s a quick effect that can be used to bring on text or an image, depending on how you color and animate the streaks. It creates something like this.

Great! I will use this in my new movie.
Hi Mike,
Just a question as at the moment when I apply 3dstroke to the solid the whole composition just goes white and i can’t seem to work out how to work with it…
any clues as to what’s going on and how i can fix this?
thanks in advance.
ps. great tutorials!
Did you try drawing on the soild with the pen tool to get your path? Are you wining your RGB channels or do you have it set to Alpha on view? Those would be my two guesses at the moment, try those and let me know.
