It stands for Work That I Wish Was Mine. When I see something online or on TV that I wish I was good enough to make, I’ll try and find a clip of it.

Helio is a newer cellphone company that seems to market towards younger people. I’m not really sure if they are popular enough to take a chunk out of the existing wireles providers like AT&T, Verizon, etc. But that doesn’t really matter because they have some really cool commercials.

I saw this one on TV the other day:

Very cool animation, it flows from start to finish and the animation actually helps to illustrate the points it makes about uploading to YouTube and Flickr.

There are a lot more of their ads on their YouTube page that follow the same style. Their ads are handled by Deutsch Inc. out of their Los Angeles office from what I’ve gathered.

The 3D animation in this is beyond my reach right now, I’m getting better at Cinema 4D but I’m not nearly good enough to put something together that is as nice as that.

Here’s a spot I did that shows off the toughness of the Toyota Tundra. It came out pretty cool, but unfortunately the compression knocks the visual quality down a notch. I used Apple Motion, After Effects and some Photoshop. The last 5 seconds are where you insert a dealer’s logo and location information.

Check out my first tutorial, it shows you how to create a paper rip effect in After effects. It’s a cool technique I’ve used in a few car commercials I’ve done. Check out the Tutorials Page to watch it. Sorry I’m not the best at these yet, I’ll get better at them in the future, so excuse my long-winded explanations.

So my site is officially “launched” now, not that it hasn’t been online and somewhat functional since May I think.

Welcome to the blog section of my site, which came with my web hosting service. I’m not going to be posting about how I’m feeling or what happened today. This is where I’ll post updates of my work and links to cool motion graphics and visual effects stuff I find online every so often.
