W.T.I.W.W.M. – Helio Ads

It stands for Work That I Wish Was Mine. When I see something online or on TV that I wish I was good enough to make, I’ll try and find a clip of it.

Helio is a newer cellphone company that seems to market towards younger people. I’m not really sure if they are popular enough to take a chunk out of the existing wireles providers like AT&T, Verizon, etc. But that doesn’t really matter because they have some really cool commercials.

Toyota Tundra Rough Cut

Here’s a spot I did that shows off the toughness of the Toyota Tundra. It came out pretty cool, but unfortunately the compression knocks the visual quality down a notch. I used Apple Motion, After Effects and some Photoshop. The last 5 seconds are where you insert a dealer’s logo and location information.

Paper Rip tutorial

Check out my first tutorial, it shows you how to create a paper rip effect in After effects. It’s a cool technique I’ve used in a few car commercials I’ve done. So my site is officially “launched” now, not that it hasn’t been online and somewhat functional since May I think.

Welcome to the blog section of my site, which came with my web hosting service. I’m not going to be posting about how I’m feeling or what happened today. Tutorial: Paper Rip Effect in After Effects

This tutorial will show you how to make it appear that a big piece of your footage is being ripped off like a sheet of paper. It tears a top layer and reveals another layer beneath. This tutorial uses Photoshop and After Effects, and deals with alpha channels, track mattes, precomposing, and you need CC Page Turn or a similar page peel plug-in.
